Susan Summons

Susan Summons, a Hall of Fame Coach with over 37 years of experience, is renowned for her impactful contributions in sports education and leadership. As an original member of the historic WBL Women's Professional Basketball League, she earned accolades as a WBCA National Coach of the Year and served as a USA Basketball Assistant Coach, contributing to a bronze medal win. Her influence extends as a top-ranked educator and business professional in South Florida, recognized for her motivational speeches focusing on team enhancement, positive cultures, success strategies, and mental wellness.

Inducted into the National NJCAA Hall of Fame, Susan is acclaimed for her coaching prowess andextensive experience in personal development, success coaching, and life coaching. Her dedication to unlocking individuals' potential and fostering positive mindsets has empowered diverse individuals to conquer challenges and achieve aspirations.

Ramona Edwards

Ramona Edwards began her journey in 1986, joining Miami Dade College as a promising Student-Athlete for the Women's Basketball team. With a coaching career spanning decades, Ramona has led successful tenures as both Head Coach and Assistant Head Coach at esteemed high schools such as Cooper City, Pine Crest, and West Broward. Presently, she coaches a women's basketball team at the Senior Olympic Games.

Ramona's dedication extends beyond the court as Vice President and Head Coach of Senior Girl’s Travel Basketball at South Florida Pressure, Inc., scouting and nurturing talent for collegiate opportunities. Her commitment to holistic athlete development and fostering well-rounded individuals underscores her legacy of championships and honors. Ramona's passion forcoaching, leadership, and mentorship continues to shape the future of basketball, aiming to inspire excellence both in sports and in life.

Kiko Benoit

Origines "Kiko" Benoit is a revered figure in women's college volleyball, boasting an exceptional 17-year legacy as the head coach at Miami Dade College. Under his guidance, the Sharks clinched an impressive 14 state titles and secured two national championships, earning him the prestigious AVCA National Coach of the Year title in 2017, among numerous other accolades.His dedication to coaching and recruitment efforts has paved the way for former MDC players toexcel at Division I universities and in professional volleyball across Europe and Latin America.

Benoit's influence transcends the court, assisting international student-athletes in acclimating tolife in the United States. A graduate of Miami Dade College and Columbia College (Missouri) with a Bachelor's degree in General Education and a minor in Psychology, Benoit's commitment to volleyball and player development continues to shape the future of the sport.

Mike Balado

Mike Balado, Miami Dade College's athletics director, brings an impressive quarter-century of sports expertise. As a former University of Louisville men's basketball assistant, Balado played a pivotal role in developing NBA talents like Donovan Mitchell, Terry Rozier, Montrezl Harrell, and Damion Lee. Balado's versatile coaching career spans across NCAA divisions, including impactful roles at Arkansas State, FIU, Florida Atlantic, High Point, and the University of Miami. His diverseexperience coaching at various levels underscores his adaptability and understanding of multifaceted coaching environments.

Balado's career began as a standout basketball player at St. Thomas University. He furthered his education at Augusta University, laying the groundwork for a successful coaching career. Now at Miami Dade College, Balado takes on the challenge of overseeing the athletic programs, focusing on expanding sports offerings and bringing his wealth of experience to nurture emerging talent.
