Course Description

This course provides students with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to serve as a Public Safety Telecommunicator (PST), a position designated to take and respond to administrative and emergency 9-1-1 calls for assistance and dispatching law enforcement, fire rescue, and emergency medical services to assist the public in times of crisis.

This course meets the requirements of a Public Safety Telecommunication training program as defined by the Florida Statutes, Chapter 401, Chapter 465, and the goals and objectives for certification as a 911 Public Safety Telecommunicator as set forth by the Florida Department of Education and the Florida Department of Health.

Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:30pm to 8:30pm synchronous sessions. Remaining hours are independent online work with continuous grading, feedback, and support from the instructors.
