Designed for students with prior knowledge in construction management and blueprint reading, this course introduces core information on construction materials and methods. Emphasis is placed on environmentally sensitive construction principles, aiming to reduce reliance on active environmental control systems and energy consumption. The course covers both structural and non-structural materials and assemblies, exploring interior and exterior components used in the AEC (Architecture/Engineering/Construction) industry. Students will study the origins, production, and applications of construction materials. The course format includes an intensive review, combining self-study, lectures, and interactive discussions.
