Course Description

This course is designed for students with solid foundation in Italian. Emphasis is placed on enhancing language proficiency and cultural understanding. Topics include media, relationships, careers, and environmental issues. Advanced grammar concepts and cultural discussions are integrated throughout.

Learner Outcomes

To achieve the stated outcomes, the following objectives will be used to inform and adjust instruction on a weekly basis. Objectives are used to observe development of language fluency in class and inform success on in-class activities and projects, quizzes, and tests.  1. Communication: Discuss and comprehend more complex spoken and written materials. 2. Cultures: Analyze cultural products and practices 3. Connections: Deepen understanding of global issues through Italian texts and media. 4. Comparisons: Examine how Italian grammar and societal norms differ from the native language and culture. 5. Communities: Participate in Italian-speaking communities through projects, meetings and presentations.

Prerequisites

Italian 2 or Placement Test.
