Course Description
This course prepares students for the Intuit Bookkeeping Certification by building a strong foundation in accounting principles and financial statements. Students will learn about the accounting cycle and work with key financial statements, track assets, record sales transactions, and manage merchandise inventory.Learner Outcomes
Upon completion of the course, students will be able to demonstrate the following competencies:
- Bookkeeping Basics: An overview of accounting concepts, bookkeeping tasks, and the framework of double-entry bookkeeping, with attention to ethical and social responsibility.
- Assets in Accounting: Examination of asset types, inventory management, depreciation recording, and the application of the accounting equation in asset-related transactions.
- Liabilities and Equity: Understanding liabilities, payroll accounting processes, and types of equity, with an emphasis on evaluating financial position through the accounting equation.
- Financial Statement Analysis: Methods for performing bank reconciliation, analyzing financial statements, assessing financial health, and making informed financial decisions.
