Course Description

Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Domestic Violence for Physician Assistant (PA) Program covers: 1. OSHA: review of the recommendations for infection control. This course is provided to help reduce the health risk to workers whose duties involve exposure to blood or other potentially hazardous materials 2. HIPAA: a course designated for all health care providers who need to abide by the government regulations concerning privacy and anonymity of health care information; and 3. Domestic Violence: required by the Florida legislature for all healthcare providers during each licensure period; satisfies that requirement, and will provide students with information on victim identification, procedures used to screen victims of domestic violence, methods, and resources used in counseling.
